9/12/19 Blog

Whats up blog!

We have a test tomorrow. Today we learned about Socrates. He was a Greek philosopher that had many new ideas about life. He was a normal person and he worked as a stone mason before he became a teacher. This helped him later on because he had a better view of the real world not the wealthy side of it. When he was a teacher he taught the youth, probably teenagers and a little older. He taught them right outside the town. Socrates used a method of teaching where he asked questions and his students answered and gave their opinion. This led to the scientific method. Socrates later got accused of corrupting the youth and not following the gods recognized by the state. He was found guilty by a jury of 500 men. He was sentenced to death. Socrates drank poison hemlock and died. Even though he was killed his ideas about life are still in use today.
